About

Welcome to the FOOD CLUB Network!

We are:

  • a grassroots network of local food clubs
  • a virtual place for neighbors to connect around food issues
  • a resource to facilitate neighbors gathering together in their neighborhoods to share food and information about local food options
  • a way to connect with local farmers
  • a way to create new local food options like buying clubs
  • a way to meet your neighbors
  • a way to promote local self-sufficiency that is fun and practical
  • free, open, transparent, inclusive, and child-friendly
  • non-discriminatory against anyone – ALL ARE WELCOME!
  • FOR everyone who can truly support all of the aforementioned

So tell us about your local food club and join the network!

Do you have a regular potluck lunch or dinner?   Do you have occasional potlucks?  Do you have a neighborhood food buying club?  Do you have a community garden?   Do you have a lot of people with backyard gardens?  What about chickens?  Are chickens allowed in your neighborhood?

We recommend starting an email listserv  to augment other communication methods like phone, flyers, and “across the fence”.  Not everyone uses email or wants to.  However, increasing numbers of people of all ages find it to be a fun & efficient way to connect and build community.   Here are a couple of popular sources which work well and should be with us for the foreseeable future:

Do you have any ideas for Food 2.0?   If you know of a way to use technology to build local community around local food, please let us know!
